Hey man, I love classical. You got to keep in mind, that you don't listen to music only to advance your playing, youlisten to it for the aesthetic pleasures it gives you. If you go around listen to stuff only for educational benefit, you'll never be able to emote, so listen to what you like, no just what you want to sound like.
If you want some chamber music that's drum oriented, check out John Cage. That is, if you like 20th century music.

I've loved classical, renaissance, orchestral, symphonic music since i was a small child.
It actually started me "on the path."
Some of the most classic motion pictures of or even before "our time" have INCREDIBLE scores rooted from these styles AW.
Much of it is just breathtakingly beautiful &/or incredible. It's where much if not almost ALL comes from [of course, later, with twists ;c)].
Good one, DeeP_FRieD.

Music is music. If you like the way it sounds, enjoy. As DF already said, there's no rule that your listening has to be limited to informing your drumming skills per se. But, I think that any music that moves you will eventually find a way into your playing anyway.

If you listen to music which inspire you, you'll feel better. So, you will probably put more emotion in your playing. In a Modern Drummmer interview, Kenwood Dennard said Chopin is a source for inspiration. Terry Bozzio is another drummer who loves classical music. Personally, I love Chopin, Rachmaninov, Faur? and Rodrigo.
